cel light staying on

yeah what does it mean when your car on igniton switch and the check engine light on constantly i did the jumper wire to the ecu and it did not blink at all it just stays on all the time and does not blink any sort of code

are you saying that when you ahve the engine running the CEL is on? Or when you put the car to start but have yet to start the engine?
