Default dropping engine from underneath

anyone done this before? swapping my dying d15 for a d16z6 like i did last year in my 4door. but this year i dont have a cherry picker, so cheap me is wanting to pull the engine from underneath.

its possible. could do it like corksil did with the walk on ladder and taking the engine completely apart. ie block, head, trans. have to ask him on specifics.

it is possible. and seeing as how these are D's it shouldn't be too hard. jjust have to put the car up really high and maybe remove the bumper.

its hexa easy i did it a few times.
lower the front of the car on the ground until you see the motor move up a tad. unobolt it all. then raise the car and drag/pull/winch it out

I did it once. works very well. I had a small platform with wheels that I rolled under the engine, lowered car so engine was resting on said contraption. Unbolted mounts, lifted car.

they are installed from underneath, so they come out just as easy.

only way to do it, as far as i'm concerned.

awesome.

thumbsup to everyone for their opinion. i agree its probably gonna be easy. i had trouble manuvering my cherry picker around with jackstands under the frame last time.

It's simple, yet could be complicated, but you need a buddy or two to lend that extra hand when you need to move/manuever engine/chassis to make it sit in. Easiest, especially when you don't have ac/ps/cc/abs etc...oh yeah and D series, a piece of cake vs. a B which is a tad bit heavier. I did about 8-10(x) swaps with this method, taking out D's, putting in B's and vice versa.
