Default Is the car worth a tune already? Or should I wait? Mods in post

So right now the modifications I have on the car are as follows:

S2k tb with 3" pipe and vstack

No cat 2.25" exhaust

Megan header

Lightened flywheel and clutch

Ctr cams

Skunk 2 im

And a chipped p72

Basically bolt ons except for the mild cams

I don't want to get to much more involved because of possibly going with a h series later on...but would a tune be worth it and would it make a nice difference on how the car feels, gas mileage and power? I'm in the FL area and I heard there are a few tuners out here but don't know where to go to get that done.

Btw, the vstack works well compared to what I had before. And without the filter works even better from what I can tell.

Thanks for the help

I thought it was just me but the car feel more alive and pulls a bit harder and of course sounds better with no filter..

I'm running the ITR rubber tube with no filter. And we have almost the same mod list... almost. I'm sure people will tell you to get to to maximize your power or whatnot. I'm thinking of getting tuned also but after I get my s300.

IMO a tune is always worth it.

Any certain ecu setup I should buy ahead of time? And yea man, I noticed top end pulled a bit better when I went to the vstack w/the filter, but w/o seemed to get a touch better

ECU setup? You said it's a chipped P72. What is it running? CROME? Hondata?

I would get in touch with Kenny (turbogixxer on this Forum).
He tunes and does ECU work (socketing, etc) in South Florida.

Solid guy, he has socketed my P28 and will be tuning my car soon (hopefully).

He's also on Facebook:

Good luck,

If you don't want to invest a lot into the setup. I would suggest trying a basemap chip from a reputable tuner instead of a generic chip you may have.

Concerning tuners in Florida. Check ectune.com & hrtuning.com (dealer list).
We are north of Tampa, FL
