Default lsvtec ecu problem

finally finished my lsvtec and i start it with the chrome chipped p72 for the build and it bogs...i have another 2 ecus...a p2t and a p2e...i try the p2t and same results...then i try the p2e and it starts and runs with no bogs...when i take it down the street for a test drive it does about a 1/4 mile but when i got to the stop sign it died and wouldnt start for a couple minutes...just ordered new B16 obd2 injectors and a walbro 255 fuel pump to see if its a fuel problem...im really trying to figure this out but no luck so far...if you have any ideas or can resolve my problem it would be greatly appreciated...thanks

Is the car throwing any codes on the p72 you have?
If so, what codes?

Make sure you don't have any vacuum leaks.
Make sure your timing belt is at top dead center.
Make sure your tps and map sensor plugs are not mixed up.

IMO i wouldnt waste the money on the fuel pump if you think its gonna fix your car. If the car ran with the old motor before, switching fuel pumps is pointless. Stock civic fuel pumps deliver enough fuel. What injectors are in it now? What dizzy, alternator, ect. Are you sure your obd2 everywhere?

Similar thing just happened to my friend...the car ran and drove, but would bog, die, hiccup in mid-range. Turned out the harness he bought brand new from honda was wired wrong. They reversed the iacv and fuel injector wires.

The only codes being thrown is the vtec because I haven't wired it in yet...I use to have a b18b1 in it so I don't see why it would be any different besides vtec...the only thing that's happened since then is the wire tuck so it could be something there...but it still makes no sense why the P2E works better then my P2T and my P72...everything on my car is obd2b cause its 99civic EK hatch...so my wire harness is obd2b...I have 2 sets of obd2 b16 injectors and same problem with both..

I have a MSD B16 dizzy, B16 obd2 alternator, and stock fuel pump..I'm mainly trying to pin point everything so I don't have to buy a bunch of stuff..

since the b18b1 was already in and you just put a b16 head on? Right? I would def look closely at the wire tuck. The only other thing is maybe intake manifold gasket is leaking and the p2e just has a better map. I dunno. Could just be as simple as getting vtec wired and get a tune and the tune might correct that.

A tune will not fix your problem. Have you jumped your ecu to find if there is any other codes or did you just automatically assumed that your CEL is only Vtec related since you have not wired it in yet? Does the car hold idle? Have you checked your ignition timing with a timing gun?

The intake manifold isnt leaking so its good...mouab yea i have and its only saying the vtec on the P2T and P72...the car only holds idle with the P2E but with the P72 and P2T it starts but once it goes to idle it bogs out and dies unless i press the gas...i was going to check the ignition timing but im still waiting for my friend to bring me back the timing gun..ill check those things and let you guys know the outcome
