Just curious what rpms is your vx tranny reading in 5th gear going 60 mph? I think maybe my rpm gauge is off. When im going 60mph in 4th its around 2000 rpm and in 5th it says like 1600 rpm is that normal for a vx tranny. The reason i asked was because i got my p28 street tuned for my d15z1 and vtec set at 3500 rpms when my rpms hit 3000 the check engine light comes on for vtec (b cuzz my solenoid is bad got to get it replaced )but is my rpm gauge off like when i hit 3000 rpm i actually at 3500 rpm or is that just how vtec works it detects before 3500 rpm? silly question just curious if i should go get a new ex/si cluster lol Thanks
60mph in 4th its around 2000 rpm and in 5th it says like 1600 rpm

The normal "VTEC" cutover for a D15Z1 is at 2500 rpm. That's the point where it goes from 12-valve operation to normal 16-valve operation. It's not like regular VTEC on other Honda engines.
