Default First "drag strip only" team build. Suggestions and recommendations?

Me and some friends want to put together a decent drag strip only car, but are kinda unsure on what exactly is needed and what can be left out. Were all fairly new to engine building and have mostly done mild 200whp na stuff, but nothing really serious.

What we already have is an 84.5mm benson sleeved block and a b17 head.

Now can eagle rods take the power were looking for or should we be looking at something else?
Also what CR would be needed to make this power(will NOT be on pump gas)?
Planning on using an 89mm oem crank

The head is going to be ported by user b20vtech, planning on full sk2 valvetrain, pro1s, victorX.

Turbo kit and fuel is pretty much a mystery. Will def be using an equal length, but should we be looking at a top mount or ramhorn? Benefits of each?
Which turbo best suits our build?
Will an intank walbro do the trick or should we be looking at something else?
What size injectors will properly fit our goals?

Which trans will be best for this app? LS transmissions are usually Alot cheaper. We DON'T want to spend money on a full blown tranny, so how can we save here and still keep the car somewhat realiable?
Will we need a twin disk or can we use something like a clutchmasters stg. 5?

Ignition-
I'm just lost here. Can anyone suggestion a decent ignition setup that won't tear up my pockets?

Chassis is a 92 hatchback, and plans for suspension is the omni drag suspension. Car will be tuned with an s300 and most likely by PED in Stockton.

Th goal is to make 600-700hp! We have a friendly race in Jan 2012 and would like to get The car up by then.

If there is anything that I left out or something we should look into, please feel free to add

I say complete the body work and all go in on a built trans! If your crew is still showing up and working and dishing out money for one car then you have a solid crew and should be able to complete anything you start!

My crew fell apart at the body work!! LOL

Body work is not going to be a problem. The body is in very good shape already and were getting a semi-sponsor by my cousins paint shop. We provide he paint, clear, etc. And he will do all the body work and paint. All we have to do is slap on his shops name and number

Eagle rods are basicly junk and I would not use them in an engine making 600hp+....look at companies like manley, pauter, carrillo, oliver

Compression ratio will be dependant on fuel and boost/power levels

You will not be able to run a stock transmission at those power levels for very long you WILL break gears....its not a matter of if but when

There is a lot of choices for ignition systems but we need to know what your budget is

I would look into something else other then a s300....and there are better tuners in your area who have much more experience with high hp honda engines

Hmm..maybe well save the benson block and do a basic piston/rod combo on some stock sleeves first. That way well save on the twin disk, ignition, and trans. New goal-to get into the 10s!

my suggestion would be to buy another already done car and go have at it. there are deals to be had. e veryone wants to build their own ****, but that idea is simply rediculas when you can have the same exact **** for nearly half the cost, given you find ¨that deal

so you're calling mat keller and brian fisher cheap bastards? brian made 903whp on eagle rods and mat ran them for a long time even going 9.3's bck in like 06-07. so you should know what you are talking about before you open your mouth.

You can get lucky and run ebay turbo's for awhile to but that doesnt make it smart or right.

Bottom line is all **** break no matter what u got if ur pushing it...eagles are cheaper and will be fine for his setup and s300 will be more than enough for 600hp. So what im saying is even the "big dogs" break **** doesnt matter what you got sooner or later **** is gunna let go period.

Yeah, would def love to buy a car thats already built, but there are a few problems with that

1) budget is tight and this project will be done over time
2) if we build it, well know each and every bolt&nut on it
3) built, not bought

Anyways, talked some more to the guys and well be building the benson block and will probably use a cheaper turbo kit and then enjoy that and build a better kit along the way
