d16 build question
so i was going to rebuild a d16y8 im getting with vitaras and eagle rods but i wont have the funds i thought i would so now ive got to rebuild it very cheap.
im turboing my car and getting it tuned on with the engine in it now (d16y8) but its got 216000 miles on it so im gonna take a wild guess it wont last too long.
my question is if i just get the block honed, and get new rings, bearings and gaskets and rebuilt it very basically like that could i run 8 psi on the stock internals?

should hold up fine at 180hp. i ran my stock Z6 for 3yrs on 10psi daily on a gt28r. i would port the oil pump some so it can flow alil more. if using conventional oil change it every 3k. oil moving through the turbo will cook it more then normal. It would be smart to install a oil pressure gauge if u dont already have one. goodluck
i will keep that in mind, only gauges i have right now are vacuum/boost and a wideband.
so as long as the rods are straight and the cylinders are pitted real bad i can just hone the cylinders and rering the stock pistons and then get new main, rod and thrust bearings and all new gaskets and ill be good
