Icon7 Vtec STILL isnt working

ok so i posted a thread like least week about my vtec. like i said i have 98 type r swap from hmo in a 97 ls. my thermostat was done and it always took a long *** time for the needle to rise up. even though the car was already warmed up. and when it finally did get a little past C . my vtec worked again.. so now i changed out my whole thermostat. the gauge works fine now.. but my VTec doesnt work at all. any ideas? it really annoying. new solenoid maybe?

gauge doesn't mean anything to the computer.
either put a scanner on it or find the spec chart and stick an ohm meter on the sensor.

Is your ground on your thermostat housing tight and good? For good measures clean the contact on the ground wire AND on the thermostat housing itself to ensure that it's getting a good ground. Also, is your coolant level good? VTEC will NOT engage without having enough oil pressure nor enought coolant.

This is true. I know that's the ground for the ECU but something that you wouldn't think would cause the problem, can. It's sort of a precautionary thing you know? LOL
