Default '92 vx b18c1: knock sensor(code 23)

I'm using a gsr engine harness and I re-pin the blu/ylw wire from the shock tower by doing this https://honda-tech.com/forums/hybrid-engine-swaps-18/complete-obd1-b18c1-into-civic-vx-wiring-instructions-644434/.

Enginge specs:
95 obd1 longblock
stock t/b & i/m
ctr cams
rs machine type r pistons
dc 4-1 header
stock obd1 p72 ecu
brand new omni knock sensor
b16 tranny

Do I need to get a new sensor from autozone? The one from Omni might be bad even though it's brand new. Also, I wired from ks to ecu directly and it still pulls the code.

Any help, ideas or suggestions is appreciated, TIA.

the only thing i can think of is either a defective knock sensor. i would purchase another from advanced or autozone and torque it to the proper honda torque spec. i have trashed a new knock sensor by over tightening it so try that first.

You don't ground the knock sensor. If you are using the orginal engine harness, it should work fine. You MUST tap into the red/blue wire at the driver's side plug and run a wire into the D3 slot (ECU).

Was the original KS damaged or something?
