Default D15b swap questions

so I'm thinking about picking up a JDM d15b with a y8 Head and z6 tranny for $300.
would it be better with that y8 head or should I get a z6 head instead? any ideas?
I also found a z6 longblock for $180, should I pick up the longblock or the d15 swap?
Im going to be swapping it into my hatch, just need a motor that wont let me down.

suggestions?

All of those are options that may or may not work, but doesnt really mean **** without any more details.
-Who did the work?
-How many miles are on these engines/ transmissions?
-Who drove them, and for what kind of application?
-What are your goals with this car?

My suggestion is to buy a known good swap from a reputible seller, throw it together with quality parts and fluids, and pray for the best. Good luck...

dont listen to that crap, the y8 head is just fine. id go with the z6 longblock. personally, i don't trust franken**** swaps built by strangers. z6 will be the same as the other one powerwise, and you know it wasnt hacked together.

I had a suspersonic blue pearl eg hatch with jdm d15b obd1 vtec engine with stock po8 head that is a fast quick reving engine i spanked z6s and y8s all day long, even hung with gsr hatchs pretty close, all i had was i/h/e and a magnaflow catalytic converter. That engine i had loved high rpms and pulled hard its a good engine
