i dont get it , i juss did a ls swap and i ben trying to get my car run , it ran like crap wit the 99 ls ecu , bad idle no power and mad smoke , then out the blue i tryed my 96 dx ecuand it ran beautiful , but i dont whant to use it , will it hurt? , will it make my fuel mixtur messed up ? it runs stoich on openen it up , iz that good bad, idonno ? so iz it safe to run ? i need feed back , thanx

deffintion of better -- dosent lack power on accleration , and idles normal, but with the ls ecu it ran like crap man 93 ls integra -in a 96 civic dx

 

I thought 99 ECU's had different plugs at the ECU than 96-98???? What is the number on the side of the ECU? xxxxxxxxx-xxx-xxxxxxx

It is ok to run the dx ecu. Actually it is probably better. Honda computers are programmed to run rich at WOT(which is safer, but can also hurt power slightly), so when you run a computer that it is programmed for a sohc, on a dohc motor, the extra air that the dohc flows will lean the mixture out slightly and provide a stoich mixture. I don't understand why you are having idling issues with the other computer however. Did you throw any codes with it? Did you throw any with the sohc? If you want some good hard facts on running the sohc computer go to the hybrid-honda webpage. The performed a whle bunch of dyno tests on a b20 with a range of computers. I think it is something like http://www.hybrid-honda perf.org or something like that. Just do a search for Hybrid Honda.

if i were you i'd try an obd1 LS ecu..a 94-95 one.

 

im throwing the same CEL codes with both of the ECU but i juss if it rus better then i prob. keep my dx ecu on . and for supercivic , i porb will try that but then i would have to get a obd 2 to obd 1 jummper harness and a ecu and im kinnda on a bugit, but ill keep it in my mind if i run it to more problems , thanx guys

the motor was a pre obd but now i converded it to obd 2 and the ecu is obd2 ,so is my dx ecu, and itz running fine
