I think the b series sounds better than the d series.

Use your stock harness, get the Si rear T bracket, and driver side block mount. For the ECU, grab an OBD2A P75 LS ECU.

He answered you.
You haven't gotten this figured out in two months? In for progress.

To give you some clarity, a stock d16y8 probably runs a ~16.7 second 1/4 mile, the car might be capable of a 16.0 second 1/4 mile with the new engine and transmission.

VERY rough numbers based on Compiled Car and driver/road and track data.

Emphasis on the car running the time and not the driver.

Good driver + in a vacuum where all variables are held constant.

No one tries to get serious with stock b-series motors. (B18c5 being the exception) They aren't much faster than a d-series.

They do however respond better to cams, turbos, etc than d-series engines do.

Stock Honda engines are slow. Plain and simple. Unless you get a b18c5 with the J24 transmission or an h2b/k20 build you aren't going to have a "quick" stock Honda swap.

I'm not telling you 1/4 mile times because I have that particular motor setup either, that's based on some stats from albeedigital.com

Quit worrying about 1/4 mile times and get moving on your swap. A b18b is a phenomenal, sturdy, cheap boost motor. Get 200-300whp on a mild turbo setup and get back to us once you get some seat time.

I'm not sure I would consider a stock b18b or a b16a a groundbreaking improvement over a d16y8.

That's more what the OP is hoping for it seems. Like a stock b-series swap is going to allow him to own up some late 90's mustang GTs
