Hey guys I got a 1997 Honda civic ex, I recently cleaned my throttle body and tightened my throttle cable (to spec) to fix an unsmooth Acelleration issue. But now what Happens is when I come to a stop or shift into neutral, it only drops down to 1500 rpm where it should drop to 750-800ish I belive. Also when I come to a complete stop it will sit at1500 rpm as I mentioned before and then after about 5 second it drops down to the correct idle rpm.... This annoys me I want to fix it hahaha

 

The throttle cable should be adjusted to have ~1/2" of free play.

 

check your tps also. I had the same problem. My tps was out of tolerance. I adjusted it and the problem went away. Just a thought.
