Tires shredding in the middle WTF?
hey guys i got a problem with my 95 civic hatch
after i lowered my car... my right front tire is getting shredded apart.
i noticed inside my inner wheel well that there is a sheet of metal that is part of the fender that could possibly be the problem. that pace actually went though my inner splash guards.
ill try taking pictures to explain my problem..
but as of right now do anyone knows what the problem that could cause this? or maybe how i could prevent this? i raised up my an inch and the problem stopped but i want to lower my car again cause i dont like the stance.
camber kit?
and yes i aligned my car

A lot of people that ride low dont have splashguards I think because it hits the tire. The fenders have tabs for them to hook up to which get in the way of the wheel.
Either way its probably your alignment. Camber doesnt wear the tires much. Its toe that kills. You need to lower it and get it aligned. Thats as much as i can help without a pic.

I dont think its height, its toe. What does being 2-3 inches off the floor have to do with it? and thats not ONLY. Thats pretty damn low.
Your alignments gets thrown off a lot when you change height.

I see you added that you had it aligned. It's my understanding (because I don't follow this lowrider trend) that when a car is lowered too much there's only so much an alignment can fix. I also understand that if you want to go "tucked" there's a matter of negative camber and fender rolling involved.
Maybe you want to check out how they do it over at hellaflush.com.

did you say you get wear like this on 1 tire or all? if its 1 then there is something wrong with the tire...if its all then there is something wrong with the alignment...if you did get an alignment then either the person that did it did it wrong or your car is unnecessarily low...thats the end of the story...there is nothing else that can be the issue...
i kno wut ur talking about mann,,
i got a flat tire like that.. im like 2 inches or a lil lower and one i wasnt paying attention to the road and i was going atleast 50mph and i hit a big dip and i hear the front right tire *pop* and it was because of that metal **** that sticks out..
i still drive with it like that after i got new tires.. i jst b carefull...
i dnt have that guard thing that goes around the fender either so idk if it works or not..

Easiest fix is to raise it up to a reasonable height. 1.5-2" of tuck is pretty damn low and its unavoidable at that height that you're going to have contact, not to mention that the uca's are almost if not already into the shock towers. I had this problem when I went from 205/50/15s to 195/55/15s on my daily though, the new tires were just enough taller that I was getting little slivers cut out of them when I hit big dips in the road.
But there is a fix. I've done it to both my '94 and to my '00. using an angle grinder with a cutoff wheel notch the lip every 2" or so along the length where it is close to the wheel. You don't need to do the whole length of it, just where it gets close enough to contact Then fold the lip over toward the middle of the car. It ill be hard to get a hammer in there with the suspension in, I used an air hammer with a 1" round mallet tip. Then I just fired up the welder and put a stitch or two across each of the slits that I cut, and finally sanded primed and painted the area. I also trimmed that area of the fender liner that used to fit over that seam.
For the outside edge of the liner I cut a slit just above the two screws near the door (the ones where a mudflap might attach). Then you can remove all of the clips and tuck the liner above fender except for where those two screws are and reinstall the clips so that they run through the fender and into the liner.
My '94 has been this way for over 10 years now with absolutely no problems.

if you want it low.. clearancing is a must.. if you can't figure out what is rubbing/cutting or don't want to beat/bang/weld/cut anything that is causing the rubbing/cutting.. you shouldn't have lowered the car.
