I am 90% sure I read for the A6/z6 you have to use the B7 belt.
I have a B2 bottom and Z6 head and I have to use a Z6. i think the difference is in the water pump. the A6 pump has one more tooth I believe.

I dont know about the Y8/Z6 belts.

The wiring is just time consuming. I am actually in the middle of the swap right now so I havnt got it running/done yet. I figure it cant be to hard to do because so many people have it done.

good i have heard it works with all 3 belts of different peoples cars which i highly doubted ill grab the b7 belt and the pumps and pullies of a6 and rock it.

wiring is the easy part of project with as many diagrams you can find on the net

z6 belt is too short. the a6 tensioner is thicker than the z6 tensioner. use b7 belt. i just did this 2 weeks ago
