Default Installing an alpine 7995..few questions

ok i'm getting an alpine 7995 next week and i have a plan for installing it but i want to know if it will work.

i want to mount it by the cup holders in my 2000 civic so i need the 96-98 cup holder part. will an aftermarket deck fit in that slot or would i be better off modifying the stock 99-00 one.

i also want to keep the stock deck in place just as a dummy and a clock. would there be any problems if i just left the power, illumination connected. i just want it do display the clock and light up when i turn the power on. it wont show any error codes will it?

thanks in advance

don't u need to run a 10 gauge wire from your battery directly to your hu. This model isn't a cd reciever so you have to have an external amp to hear the music. sorry i couldn't be of any help

yeah i'm going to run a separate wire for the HU but i think 10 gauge is a little excessive considering there is no internal amp......and i have a 4CH amp so thats not an issue.

and why am i going to http://www.jdmfan.com/???

It has the parts and diagram you need to do the job. Mines down in that location and I like it much better than in the stock location.
