Don't waste your time. I'm assuming that by "deck" you mean head unit. Run a larger gauge wire to your amp, not your HU. What are we talkin' about? 40x4? 50x4? Completely unnecessary.

If you have one of the newer decks with the MOSFET style high power output (rated at 50 watts x 4 or more) you may want to consider running a larger gauge wire to it. These decks with four 4 ohm speakers connected to it draw 10-12 amps, and the stock 20 gauge wire is insufficient for that kind of current without significant voltage loss.

Dude, if you had a hard-on to run a larger wire, then why didn't you just do it to begin with? Did you just need someone to tell you what you wanted to hear?
