ok. Motec, AEM, NEPTUNE, CROME.
T1 M&W, COILS ON PLUG, Twin Fire. ect...
im in a pickle and want to get my bearings straight. i would like to understand our options better.
1. can i run t1 M&W with crome or AEM? DO i still need a dizzy then?
2. MoTec is a very expensive option but i see alot of people run it. when should a person make the change over to Motec and what other changes need to be made to use MoTec?
3. is AEM v.1 or v.2 worth it over crome?
4.what can we bring the stock ignition system too be for it stutters?
5. can running aem or s300 over crome make more power?
6. can aem perform "boost by gear"?
if u need to know mu setup in order to anwser these question:
b20/vtec (b16 head)
type r cams
9.0 comp
aebs sleeved
t4 67 trim.
518whp on 18. psi on crome stock fuel lines.

1. You can run the single channel M&W Pro10 box with a stock honda ECU, so yes, it will work You can not run the multi channed M&W Pro14/Pro Drag4 boxes with coil on plug though.
2. People use Motec for its rock solid reliability and the ability datalog a lot of sensors, amongst other reasons.
3. I would probably run almost anything over Crome, even AEM.
4. If you have a good condition cap, rotor, plugs, wires, ignition module, and the stars align properly, you can make 800+ on stock ignition.
5. You can apply the power much more accurately using S300 or AEM over crome.
6. Yes, AEM can do boost by gear.

where ya located in ohio?
1. can i run t1 M&W with crome or AEM? DO i still need a dizzy then?
yes, but there are a handful of different m&w boxes, which are you referring to? yes, you still need a dizzy, but if you opted to go with coil on plug and a cam trigger you would not. in that case you would need to run a standalone aka not hondata or crome
2. MoTec is a very expensive option but i see alot of people run it. when should a person make the change over to Motec and what other changes need to be made to use MoTec?
unless you have deep pockets and plans to build an outlaw car i wouldnt opt with the motec. its really useful in a car setup to properly utilize all of its options, but if you're asking these questions, it would be too much.
3. is AEM v.1 or v.2 worth it over crome?
depending on what your expectations are and what your building it could differ, but i would at least get hondata, if not aem
4.what can we bring the stock ignition system too be for it stutters?
wat?
5. can running aem or s300 over crome make more power?
ehhh, you'll probably have an easier time tuning a car on aem or s300 compared to crome.
6. can aem perform "boost by gear"?
yeah, pretty much everything you've mentioned does
from what it sounds like, youre in over your head. just lurk and research, start with the basics. figure out whos gonna tune your car and find out what they prefer to tune and what they recommend.

I made almost a 100whp more than you with NGK Plug wires/MSD Cap/Rotor and a MSD HVC II Coil. For you build I would stay simple like my setup.
5. can running aem or s300 over crome make more power?
Tuners like the extra tables and support the other Editors use. Therefor being able to squeeze more power form the same setup. I made 511whp on CROME and went back a month later, same PSI...nothing changed but to S300....Made 552whp. Tuner was better with this system and could use it more efficaintly.
6. can aem perform "boost by gear"? Yup, So can Hondata. Easy to set up and adjust at the track to. I had to set mine up on my own, never done this before. Very easy and when I had questions...I got quick answers.
IMO....For a racer like myself and you....HONDATA FTW. Its easy to use/fairly priced/user friendly and has everything we need and then some.
