Default White Smoke?

im planning on buying a 1991 crx si salvage title tomorrow for 500$ but the owner dont know whats wrong with it...he said it's something about the valve...its giving out white smoke atm....saldy i just wrecked my clean title 1991 crx si last saturday :/...

a leakdown test could pin point the problem in minutes. Doesn't seem like you have that option though. I'd stay away from it if has had frame damage. unless you're willing to repair it right. could be more problems down the road than it's worth

the guy told me something was wrong with the head so i decide to buy a z6 head to drop it in when i buy it tomorrow...it has a straight body that's why i want to buy it...how would i do a leakdown test:?

you need a leakdown tester and a compressor. It essentially pressurizes the cylinder while it's at TDC and helps you determine the health of the engine.

If you think it's a good buy, snag it. Then update with pics!! good luck

BTW, do a google search, I'm sure there is a video explaining it

it's not totaled or anything or salvage title...just need to replace the parts and the hood wont shut for some reason and the frame is bent a bit..

as of right now..i have a z6 head...can i just slap it on and not wire up the vtec yet? and just drive it like the a6 head was to be on there

Wait did you say that that black crx wasnt salvage title? If it isnt GOD DAMN! that makes my salvage title look lika clean crx.

im not sure if they z6 head will bolt up to an a6 block........ but im not 100% on that.

i think it'll bolt right up with new studs and z6 timing belt i heard...iv'e been reading about the mini me swap for a minute now...

it will bolt up, but the distributor from the non vtec head wont. You will have to convert the car obd-1 to use the original distributor from the vtec head.

Or, be ghetto and cut the leg of the nonvtec distributor and time it with a timing gun. Dont forget to reuse the obd-0 injectors.

dam that sucks...any write up on how to cut the leg from the distributor? or pics?

yeah hes right, but on the plus side you can always snag an ecu and jumper harness and wire up vtec lol.

i have the ecu and jumper harness already...the down side is idk how to wire up the vtec :/....
