Default Ram horn manifold build quality

Hey guys. I don't know much about the welding process of tubular manifolds and I got this turbo manifold and tial wastegate for the price of just the wastegate, so i figured why not. I was just wondering if these welds will hold up or if this is a manifold that would be worthwhile to run or will it crack in a month? Would welding braces to it make it any less crack resistant? I know the type of SS matters but idk what type it is. Any opinions would be wanted.

Ya I figured it wasn't gonna be the highest quality manifold. The guy I bought it from gave me the guy's number who made it, so it's not ebay, but that doesn't make it shitty lol. I just wanted some other opinions on the welds and strength.

Ok sounds good. I'll just sell it. I know this probably the wrong place to ask this question, but I have a DRAG cast manifold but the wastegate is in a terrible place. What kind of cast manifold has a good wastegate placement?

inlinepro makes one of the best cast manifolds around if not the best.

The wastegate flange is welded on backwards.

Ahh it's like anything if you are a welder (or friends with one) it will work fine if you ok with repairing it as needed. Most tubular manifolds will crack even the expensive ones. Seems like nobody goes the extra mile and stress relieves them after they are welded anyways. If you want something to last forever get a cast manifold.

A good example are those Chinese hytech headers. They are terrible but if you can weld you can spruce one up to make it serviceable.

It's gonna be my daily driver so its gonna go through a lot of heat cycles so I'll still with cast.

Five reasons this unit is likely to break in short time :

1) Thin wall tubing. *
2) Offshore-quality stainless steel (huge difference). **
3) Poor welding.
4) Two or more welding heat cycles on a weld, pulsed for the "stacked dime" look.
5) Unlikely to be back purged.

* Thin-wall tubing is fine with proper material/application choice

** Try expanding this type of "stainless" with a tube expander, it cracks as soon as you give it any pressure.

holy crap thats a lot of undercut on that weld.

I may be totally wrong but it looks like that was made for a different wastegate and there was another flange just welded on the top of it?

if thats 16 ga metal too, its garbage.
