How do I find out what year my ITR is?
I have been bored at work today and I have always wondered if there was a for sure way to tell what year my jdm itr is? It is def a 98 spec, but thats all I know. If anyone is in Japan and can call a dealership there that would be cool too. Everything I can find on here is a dead end. Any help would be much appreciated!
The jdm "vin" is DC2-1301104.

If you still have the chassis, the year is usually stamped on the driver side shock tower.....in an EK. Might be there for the DC.
For instance, I have a 96 model year (USDM) EK and the stamp says 95.

If you actually READ the article, you'll see it tells how to read a VIN on a car that is manufactured in Japan for sale in the North American or European market, not a JDM (Japanese domestic market) vehicle.
I don't have the blue vin plate, just the firewall vin. I read that article already about the vin numbers. I'm thinking there has to be a vin identification of some sort. I mean how does a dealership over there know what year vehicle a customer brings in when they want work done?

I know that you said you dont have the blue vin tag, but to help out other people that might have a blue vin tag so they know what their integra is example sir-g or real itr and which time of year it was produced.

For example: One of my jdm fronts has a blue vin tag that says GF-DB8, I take that and search in the web site and it came out that its a 1999.7 Integra SIR-G
EDIT: I just could not let this go, and had to figure it all out.
After going over all the jdm fronts that I have had (I think 8 or 9 now) and their vin numbers and such and doing some more research. I stumbled upon this very old thread on honda-tech and I can say that I believe that the OP is dead on when I compare his findings to my vins when I compare them to the site above.

I can conclude that your vehicle is a 1998 Integra Type-R

Ok found out some new info from a friend in japan who belongs to some of the honda forums over there. DC2-1301104 VIN can be broken down as follows, its a 130 series of the type r. then the japanese imperial year Heisei 11 and the 04 was the month so april. That is what i was told so I think that my car is a 99 that was made in april.
