This is something useful I found while trying to figure out the year my caR was manufactured going by the Chassis No.
As you've all noticed either by seing the blue VIN tags or the bigger one printed in the firewall, JDM Chassis No's look something like: DC2-1X0####
DC2 is pretty much self explained, and this is if we're talking about the 2Dr Type R. The 4Dr R will have it's chassis code there (duh).
1X0 is the piece I was most interested about, because I was already suspecting that #### is the actual production number.
I searched and searched, even sent a couple of PM's to some users which I saw were owners of JDM Spec R's but wasn't able to get the answer. Then I did some google'ing and came across this piece of info @ http://www.clubitr.com.au:
110 - Manufactured from Oct 1995 until Aug 1996
120 - Manufactured from Sep 1996 until Dec 1997
130 - manufactured from Jan 1998 until Jun 1999
140 - Manufactured from Jul 1999 until production ceased towards the end of 2000
So to sum it up: 110/120 = 96 Spec R's, 130/140 = 98 Spec R's (140 *obviously* includes the Type Rx)
In my case, she's DC2-1306647 which makes it a 99. I've seen production numbers < 6647 corresponding to 99 R's.
If this is a repost and I ended up being sloppy at searching our own threads, then my apologies, but I seriously failed at finding this information here on HT. Also, if you're already informed on this subject and you think this is not accurate, please reply with your input and let's correct it.
Cheers!

These numbers are pretty much dead on, but the code DC2 includes the SIR-G model. The DB8's though are pretty close to the DC2 numbers, but I do believe that they are a little off, as I believe that there weren't as many.

This info can still be pretty useful as there are a number of imports in the states. There is a case right now of an Integra going around claiming to be an ITR, but it's chasis number is DC2-100XXXX. This number could never be an ITR as it is a chasis number for a 94-95 SI-VTEC.

Your right, I mainly posted this for the ones around the world which own JDM R's. I've seen several users from Europe, I'm from the Dominican Republic myself, and even several users from the US that had their caR's imported as EG6-DC2 says.

The info posted there is for the USDM VIN format, which is the easiest to find when you google for "decoding integra vin numbers" or similar keywords. In this case we're talking about the Japanese VIN format specifically.

Then that would mean that you would still fit in the DC2-110 range. You just so happen to have one of the later ones as yours is in the 1x,xxx range.
My DB8 is a 97 and has a DB8-110 number, this is why the DC2 numbers aren't the same as the DB8's.
