Default 700-1000HP Air-Air Intercooler

Hello!

Currently I'm using PTE 750hp intercooler and I want to switch to a new one since we are planning to change my charge pipes to 3in?

This will be a budget upgrade for me, so I hope no one will suggest a 1500$ worth intercooler on here.

With the PTE unit, it's 3.5in thick and I was fine with it, do you think if I'll go 4.5in thick, will there be major cutting on the chassis and oem bumper? or I'm fine with 3.5in with my goals? 4.5in we are sure is cooler like almost 10-20deg. cooler is better as always.

Currently my choices are:

1. Garrett 900HP with ATP endtanks
The only thing that ive notice is,it has 2.5 inlet/outlet,I dunno if that's OD or ID, Im hoping to match it with the 3in charge pipes we're planing.

2. Bell intercooler 24x12x3.5 or 4.5
I've heard good things about this company, they have cores and whole assemblies with tank with it.

I'm also looking for an afi intercooler but I think it's no longer available.

any thoughts? suggestions?

Buy a core and fab your own tanks....its cheaper and piping will be a lot shorter

Bell or Garrett cores, I'm running a 24x12x4.5. I know T1 has a nice set up with end tanks, or make your own.

Im running an ebay 31X12X4 pretty basic bar and plate intercooler w/ 3" inlet and outlets. I dont know what its good up to but it did the job well at 550whp and should still work fine at the 700+whp im shooting for. I mean for $120 you cant really beat that. I pressure tested it up to 40psi and not a single pinhole or leak anywhere. I know its not some name brand intercooler but it works.

I believe you can get just the cores on there as well and then make your own endtanks.

Yeah if you dont mind having to make your piping work for a basic fmic then yeah its easy. My piping wasnt bad at all and im actually changing it up a bit and also having most of the connections welded so i have a lot less couplers to have to worry about blowing off. haha

Def will work but im sure if you will log temps it will not be much efficient like pte or garrett ones.

Do you think that the 3.5in thick core will be enough for my goals?

Emailed bell and the prices are not within my budget. Sigh.

As much as possible i want a complete ic, but if we have to fab a custom end tank, im sure our fabricator can do it, but that will be my last option.

Any suggestions?

Does garett cores more efficient than pte?

Deff will not be making 1k hp with my turbo. Just stated that for me to have more room in the future...

So far bell is out. Really looking with garrett with atp tanks might get that if everything goes well.

Hmmm what about 825hp pte intercooler?

and then make your own endtanks. Or get one prefabbed. I noticed you said hopefully noone recommends a $1500 unit....so this was less...lol
