Spoon ventuli plate questions
Does anyone know if this makes midrange power at the sacrifice of high end? Or is it a win/win situation?
If the information provided here is correct, it looks like it may not be a bad investment.

Spoon's actual application for the ventulli plate was just for the B16A. Of course it will fit on Type R's too but that's not what it was designed for. I would think our rod/stroke ratio is too low to take advantage of this and would be a restriction as our engines require faster intake entrance speeds. For a B16A I could see it helping as it doesn't need to move air as quickly with it's slower piston speeds and longer dwell times so it may give it some of the midrange it's missing.
Ventuli plate narrows down the inatake port of the B16A and B18C engines to offer more mid-range power. we tried and test on the ITR the low end was improved and a bit more mid-range but no gains at the top.

it restricts flow simply because it's there (versus not being there).
unless the ventuli velocity can offset this...I don't see high-end power
but numbers are numbers...
