Alright guys, rather pissed. Have a basically new GSR hydro tranny, had a slight axle seal a week ago, because the new axle seal was not seated properly (slightly crooked). So I put some makeshift sealant on it until my new axle seal came in at Honda. I was on my way to Honda to pick up my seal, and my stranny starts clunking, and became a bitch to turn. I make it home very slowly, hoping to get everything under control with this seal. I jack the car up, and I see the original seal was completely blown off, and fluid leaked everywhere. So I planned to see what's up, I began to take the axle out, and my axle was very rough to move. There is no play up and down, or in and out, but there seems to be a bit of excessive play when twisting both axles. I can move them a quarter turn until I hear a clunk, and while I'm turning them, it feels like there are marbles in my tranny. The One side moves pretty decent, while the other becomes so stiff, that I can loosen the axle nut off without any other assistance. All signs point to be the diff... Anyone have any input on their opinions or diagnosis? I'm pretty pissed, as it's new, it only leaked for a week, and I barely drove my car...
Split it open and inspect. Likely needs all the bearings replaced since it was ran low or even dry. 5th sleeve assembly might need to be replaced now as well.
