Hey everybody. I was doing research on this forum regarding tranny/axle seal leaks but I still have more questions. Here's my situation: a few years ago I was involved in an accident and the driver responsible collided into my front passenger wheel; thus, ruining my axle. My bodyshop replaced the axle including the seal. About 6 months later the tranny started leaking where it meets the passenger axle. My bodyshop replaced it again with another remanufactured axle and new seal.

A few days ago I noticed it leaking again. This time my mechanic replaced the axle and seal. In so doing he pointed out to me that the seal was installed backwards (spring showing on the outside) by my bodyshop. Guess what...after my mechanic installed the axle and new Honda seal it still leaks...

Could it be:
a) new seal was installed incorrectly (maybe pushed in too far into tranny)?
b) seal installed was incorrect seal (doubt this b/c it looked like the old one)?
c) differential and/or bearing damaged (maybe from accident)?

When I wiggle the axle it does have some play but not as much play as the driver side axle. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

More info...my mechanic tapped the new Honda seal with a rubber hammer. Then inserted the axle and tapped the end (where boot is) with a rubber hammer.
