welding onto car ?

Icon2 welding onto car ?

i am going to weld some fender braces to my car and i wanted to know if i have to disconnect anything. like the ecu, battery anything that might mess up from welding on the car. thank you

ANYTHING computer don't just disconnect it, completely take it out of the car. Especially if you'll be TIG'ing. MIG you might get lucky and get away with it but just not a smart idea. Disconnect and remove both your battery and ECU

just disconnect the battery and keep the clamp close to the area you are welding. I weld on cars every day doing collision work and we only ever disconnect the battery.

ive always heard to take the battery completey out of the car if you do alot of welding on the car it can get messed up. i did a ton of welding on my truck and left the batter in there just disconected and it killed it. but it was an old battery on its way out so it might have not been the welding. but its not that hard to pull a battery out if your worried about it.
