Hi i have been searching through ht trying to find info on the b18's i currently have a turbo d16z6 and have and the b18's that i have seen or raced didnt really seem to pull that much harder then what i have but the swaps are more expensive, my friends tell me that i would never want another sohc after i owned a b18 they said that theres such more of a power difference, so now i have the chance to own a b18 ls motor which comes with everything ill need to swap it in for 500 and i think i may jump on it. My question is, is there goin to be much of a noticiable difference in the power of this swap than a d16? i already have a pretty built sohc would building the b18 with turbo be much of a difference from what ive already got?

You won't notice a big difference if you do just a stock LS. Stock LS only have ~140bhp. I'm sure your turbo D16Z6 is faster. You will get more torque out of an LS motor, but I'm sure the D16 you have is faster. Now if you turbo the LS, yes. It will be faster, and you will notice it. Just my .02.

 

stock for stock n/a the LS is better IMO, theres way more things you can do to a B series than a D series motor.
