another vtec problem
here the story...
89 crx b16a swap b16 trans, obd0 pr3 ecu chipped. ive tryed everything.
no dents in pan, oil change, new knock sensor, cleaned and checked the vtec solenoid cleaned screens, new vtec oil psi switch, hooked it to the battery and it works, tryed different iat sensor, changed oil pressure sensor, checked wiring, still no vtec..
any ideas

pretty sure PR3 is JDM b16 crx. Been awhile since my crx days. Guessing it was chipped for more power? Either way there are 4 wires you have to run for that ecu to put a b16 in a crx. One is Vtec solenoid, second for Vtec oil pressure switch, third for secondary o2 sensor and the last one is for the knock sensor. That doesn't include the wiring changes if you need to switch from dual-point injection to multi-point, which is like 2 new wires and some cutting and splicing the factory harness. Double-check all the wiring, make sure there are no codes and maybe contact the person you got the chip from.
yea i started messing with the wiring today. its seems to be wired wrong. and there is only 1 o2 on my car, (dc header) the chip seems to be a ebay spoon chip. i just changed the knock sensor and no change, i rewired the vtec oil psi and iab, still no change. might try and re wire the o2, and knock tomorrow, if that does no work ill go obd1 p28 and dizzy
and the pr3 is a vtec ecu form a da, or ef
and this is what i am going off of to run vtec: http://www.ff-squad.com/tech/wiring/wiring.88-91.jpg

you dont have IAB's on a B16. try a stock PR3 or PW0. or you can always run the vtec solenoid to a switch to make sure its not the solenoid. you dont need to wire in a second o2 sensor. i ran my LSV with a stock PR3 and PW0 with only a single o2 sensor, and not having the 2nd o2 will not cause vtec to not work. i want to say your chip is bad. get a stock one and see if the problem continues.

k cause i think the vtec solenoid is wired to where the iab is
so i changed my harness, i picke up one from a si, no all the plugs are the same but the one big one up but the resistor box, the one i had is the small 8 and the si harness is the 11 prong what is different? my car might have been dual port but i dont know?
so ive been messing with the harness and cleaned up most of the soldering they did, and still no luck with the vtec,
also there is no power to b5, what would cause that? ive rewired the vtec and that did not change any thing.
and now i am not running a knock or the second o2, no cells or check engine light. i am totally lost. the car runs awesome, just cuts out at 6700rpm, the pr3 chip is for vtec to hit around 5800 and redline at 8500
