How do you drain coolant on the V6 from the block plug?
I'm flushing and changing the coolant and want to get all the old stuff out and the radiator only drains half the total amount. I can't see any easy way to reach the plug with the converter right next to it.
Block Plug (I'm guessing your referring to the freeze plugs) are there to relieve pressure in case of freezing, (if not then you shouldn't be removing your threaded plugs anyways) not to flush your coolant system. Do this: remove both hoses from the radiator, remove the thermostat, and force water through your engine with a water hose. Way more efficient.
When the coolant stops draining, tighten the drain bolt. Remove the hose.

+ 1 Don't forget about the hose. I didn't put a hose on it, and got sprayed with antifreeze. I would not flush it, because some of the water will stay in the engine, and dilute the 50/50 coolant you put in. Just drain the radiator and the block, and refill. Takes just under two gallons.
Yes I have the manual and see that picture but there is no freakin way to get a wrench on the bolt let alone turn it, what with the converter and axle right behind it.

Have you tried a socket, and small ratchet. It's been a few years since I did it, but I don't remember it being that hard. You definitely have to get under the car, so make sure it's SAFE.
Tap water is not good to mix with long life coolant. I know the manual says not to use regular water. All that pure water left in the engine will dilute the 50/50 mix antifreeze too. I would get as much of that water out as possible.
