Heya everyone,
Are there any of you out there who have had 3rd gear synchro problems?
ie. The gear grinds (loud crack) when you switch 2-3 at high revs. I had mine replaced under warranty last week but picked up on the same symptoms again this week... I am kinda pissed off and confused. I called Honda and they told me that it may need a week to "settle in". I also had a racing clutch put in at the time, but there is no clutch slipping.
Thanks.

Oh yeah did I mention I don't use the clutch
I had other people drive my car the other day and experienced the same thing, so it's definetly not my driving.

Seems like this might be a common problem, iven with guys with the name "iggy".
Sycros are $150 and if you shift without a clutch that might be the problem...
By the way where have you been posting I have seen your name before but I never saw a post?

I was just kidding about the switching without the clutch
When they "fixed" it they said that the problem was due to some plate getting wedged sideways ... they were suprised I could get it into 3rd at all.
They had the car for 3 weeks the bastards... wiating for parts from Japan.
Hey Iggy, I used to post on H-A.net and I post on Off-Topic and S2Ki.com
I've been around this site for over a year too... just havent posted much.
Mt 2 suspicions:
1. They fucked up the assembly and the plate (whatever it is) is again wedged in the middle of whateverthefuck.,
2. The gear itself is faulty. But I would imagine since they took the bloody thing out that they'd see that it was faulty!!!
I am going to wait another week... in fact this weekend I am going to test it out again and see if it still persists.
An interesting point: It seems to do it when the gearbox is warm.... ie when I';ve been switching a lot (2-3) for like 10 mins. It doesn't grind when I just start driving (don't worry I warm up my engine before hitting VTEC
)
