0bd2b car with obd2a swap. RPM gauge wont work.
ok heres the deal. i have a 2000 GSR with a 97 obd2a (im guessing) JDM ITR swap.
everything in the car works, vtec...everything..runs strong as a morning wood. my cluster works and eveyrhting, except the RPM gauge. idk why, dont matter what ecu used WITH a jumper, it wont work, if i plug the stock p72 GSR OBD2B it will work.
i currently have a jumper installed from OBD2B to OBD1 p06 chipped for type r and vtec. i have read online bout the damn blue wire from dizzy, but obd2b cars didnt have that, instead they had a blue wire from the driver side. here are some pics of how my doizzy looks and the blue wire by driver side. YEA i tried searching but no help becuz i have a diff set-up on my car. im trying to get the rpms working.

i know that blue wire is missing on that year harness, what i have done is ran that blue wire from the distributor on the harness plug to that single wire plug in your above pic
wait what?? thats a stock gsr harness in the car. everything.
so which blue wire from dizzy? i have a few....i also heard of black/yellow...idk can anyone help me??? really need this cluster to work.

there should be an extra wire not used on the dist. plug. that needs to be ran to the blue wire in the pic that has the single with the black rubber boot on it.. dangling by itself in your first pic.. that goes to your rpm gauge to your cluster
I just checked and there isn't a blue wire left over. I do have blue wires going to the distributor. Idk I just checked man, I don't see a blue wire. I also heard obs2b cars use their tach signal thru the ecu. Can someone help me? And thx for ur help so far bro...
i zoomed in on your pic and i can barely see that there is a blue wire there.. and the obd2b does get its rpm from the ecu... maybe its adiffernt harness.. check to see where the wire leads to the side plug on the drivers side shock tower and if leads to anything.. could just end at the plug with nothing leading to the inside of the car...

No it's the stock harness that came with car. Weird thing is, I have a shift light set at 8,400 and it works, everything at any rpms. That shiftlight is wired to wires behind cluster. One including a blue wire that goes to cluster. How does the shiftlight know when is time to shift but it won't show up on the tach itself? Yea I tried changing cluster. Nothing. By the way when I plug inns p73 ecu with a Obd2b to obd2a jumper to use da p73 97 itr, the rpm tach jumps from 0 to 1,500 real quick and dies out at 0 again. Only at start up....
obd2b gets the tach signal from the ecu, obd2a gets it from the dizzy plug. You must run a wire from the back of the dizzy where the blue wire would would be and run it directly to the back of the cluster where the tach signal is.

obd2b gets the tac from the ecu, thats why it works with the gsr obd2b ecu. You'll need to tap into the distributo as shown above.
