Have any of you run into resonator problems...???
I thought I was having a heat shield rattle around the Cat. but I'm now starting to think the resonator is making all this damn noise. It only happens around 3k rpm and it's annoying as hell. I've gotten use to it now (just crank up the stereo) but am wondering if this could be the resonator and if any of you have had the same problem. What's the solution to this problem? Sledgehammer?
my car has a funny buz at 3-4k... the cat is new and better not be the noise.
I guess I need to get the car in the air and listen.

Yeah, stock cat about 28k on it. It's annoying the hell out of me. I've gotten under there and listened but can't pinpoint it. I was hoping it was just the heat shield but it is tight as can be and there is no play around the edges that can be hitting anything. Maybe I just need to try swapping out to a new cat. (high-flow perhaps

well.. i had a problem with carsound cat heatshield, it started at certain rpm point.. and went down the hill from there, placed couple clamps around it.. - helped a lot in my case..
it could also be something from the header... if its stock header

I have a Comptech header and Cat-back running into the stock Cat. When I was under the car it definitely sounded as it was coming from the Cat. area but had to pin point. Somtimes it's loud as hell sometimes you can't even hear it. It's more of a rattle than a vibrating sound, but irritating none the less. I'm gonna get under there again this weekend and find out what the hell is causing it...thanks for the suggestions guys
I had a similar rattle that turned out to be a missing nut where the exhaust attaches to the back of the cat. Here's a tip: grab the exhaust tip (after it's cooled off, of course
) and shake it. If you hear the rattle, it's probably somewhere in the exhaust system.

I'll try that...thanks. Why wait for the exhaust to cool down though??? I do not understand this statement
I had the same rattle. I thought mine was in the "A" pipe. I put a 1pc header on with the stock cat still and it went away.
