1995 honda accord lx
My SRS light is on I did reset it correctly but it is still on.
I have no codes that come up or engine light. Nothing thats tells me whats wrong.
What do I do next without having to take it to the dealer? How do I find the codes? What do I need to fix it?
Thnx
Janet

1. Turn off ignition
2. Connect the SCS service connector to the 2pin wire you take out of the drivers fuse box and is now hanging from a thicker harness.
3. Turn on ignition
4. SRS light comes on for 6 sec and then goes off. Before it has been off 4 sec, Remove the SCS connector.
5.SRS light turns on again. Reconnect the SCS service connector withen 4 sec of light coming on
6. Light goes off, remove connector witeh 4 sec after light went off.
7. SRS light blibks 2 times telling you the memory is erased.
8. Turn ignition off.

try removing the wires from the battery directly...and let it sit for like 10 secs...not really recommended if you have factory stereo unit cuz it will require you to enter the password again...
so you want me to remove wire from battery sit 10 secs I do not have factory radio.......then put the wires back on........ Now do I try the resetting again or just check to see if the light turns off after the removal of wires.

Your 1995 Accord is OBD-I, it doesn't have DTCs for the SRS. See this link:

Hi I got this from a honda forum also does this work?
An SCS Service Connector is used to reset your SRS light, which every Honda owner will eventually end up having to do. The dealer charges anywhere from $65 to $95 to do this, I'll show you how to do it for under $10.00. First you need to go to Best Buy or Circuit City and pick up some late model Honda speaker harnesses by Metra. The Metra model number is 72-7802. Cut the female disconnects off the ends of the speaker harnesses and strip about a half inch of jacket off of the wire. Twist the wire together and tape up the bare wire, you now have an SCS Service Connector for quite a but less than what Honda would have charged for one.
Now I'll show you how to reset the light. We've already done the 1st step by making the SCS Connector.
You'll need to find the MES (Memory Erase Signal) connector.
It is a yellow connector with two wires in it that is plugged into the back of the driver's side fuse box, unplug it and pull it down. Once you have done that you can begin the process of erasing the memory. Here's a diagram for clearer understanding.
1st step in erasing the memory is to turn the ignition off and connect the SCS Service connector to the MES Plug.
2nd Turn the Ignition on. SRS Indicator light will come on for about 6 seconds then go off.
3rd Disconnect SCS service connector for MES connector within 4 seconds after SRS indicator light goes off. SRS indicator light will come on again.
4th Reconnect SCS service connector the MES connector within 4 seconds after SRS light comes on. SRS indicator light will go off.
5th Disconnect SCS service connector from MES connector within 4 seconds. SRS indicator light will indicate that memory is erased by blinking 2 times.
6th Turn ignition off, and wait 10 seconds. Start vehicle like normal and light should come on and go out like normal. You have reset your SRS light, congrats.

Taking out the bulb probably won't work either to pass inspection, as when they start the car, the light supposed to come on briefly then off. They will never see it come on briefly.
If the reset didn't work, you probably have a problem with the SRS system, airbag deployed before, defective SRS unit, etc. What cause the light to come on in the first place?
don't know why it came on I bought the car with it on thinking a reset would do it. I did look up any recalls on car and there was one in 96 due to airbags, do you think I should find out about this? So what do I do now?
Thnx

Power sterring leaking 95 honda accord lx
I took it to a friend he changed out the hoses from the resivor to the pump also told me to keep an eye on the gasket on the pump. he also check the lines. He did'nt find any leak in the lines and the gasket on pump has been dry. But yet the resivor tank gets empty and the streeing feels funny until I refill the unit.
Anyone knows what is my problem do i need a new pump?
thnx

I suspect the SRS light is on due to something that happened with the previous owner, for example, airbag deployed, etc. I recommend you try to find an independent Honda shop or go to the dealer to have them diagnosis the SRS system. You would need the Honda service manual and the proper equipment to properly diagnosis the SRS.

You should be able to see the general area where a leak is though, it is the wet spots. If it is dry up top near the pump, get a flashlight and look underneath the car. The pressure hose goes from the top of the pump down to the steering rack. The steering rack runs across the car from one wheel to the other.
Sorry to jack this thread, but new user and I can't make new threads. So, I bought a Honda Accord LX (95) a few weeks ago; and I've been having low idle issues with it (it will stall if ac is turned on). The idle is < 500 rpms, I have cleaned the IACV, throttle body and the FITV. It runs great with or without a/c on; as long as I am moving.
Im still having the issue so I went to Autozone to get a diagnostic on it and come to find out the DTC has been removed along with any wires that were behind the ashtray. My question is, can it be replaced or is there any other way to get codes off it? Tomorrow I will be checking the alternator and battery to see if that helps, but this is driving me nuts
Thanks in advance.
