Default SRS light reset...

Hey All!

tried performing the SRS reset using the following method but after step 5 the SRS light didnt flash twice...it flashes continuously!...its been doing it for 5 minutes now. Any ideas? Thanks!

1st step in erasing the memory is to turn the ignition off and connect the SCS Service connector to the MES Plug,

2nd Turn Ignition on. SRS indicator light will come on for about 6 seconds then go off.

3rd Disconnect SCS service connector for MES connector within 4 seconds after SRS indicator light goes off. SRS indicator light will come on again.

4th Reconnect SCS service connector the MES connector within 4 seconds after SRS light comes on. SRS indicator light will go off.

5th Disconnect SCS service connector from MES connector within 4 seconds. SRS indicator light will indicate that memory is erased by blinking 2 times.

6th Turn ignition off, and wait 10 seconds. Start vehicle like normal and light should come on and go out like normal. You have reset your SRS light, congrats.

If it does not work the first time try it again, the timing has to be perfect. My first time it took me 3 attempts before it worked, but it did work.

What kind of response is that?

I asked a simple question, if you don't have anything insightful to add please stay out of my post...

well if you think I suck at life bring your "greater than thou" self over and YOU try to program it...

I think you will then agree that you also "suck at life" as you so put it...

as I said before, if you don't have anything insightful to add to my post STAY OUT OF IT!

What's wrong Corky?

you like to dish on someones post with nothing intelligent to say but you got "pwnt"?

then when you can't come up with something pertaining to the original question and someone calls you on it you get all defensive and start throwing expletives at them...sure, that's showing them!

Why don't you actually say something with regard to the problem thats intelligent enough to be considered as constructive?

looks like you are the one that's been "pwnt"

No aftermarket steering wheel...car blew both bags in a minor accident and was driven for a year with no bags. Owner just replaced with used bags so I don't know if the computer stores codes by the number of times the SRS system cycled on/off and it will just take time to clear...

for those curious I am using a hardwired toggle switch plugged into the MES plug so all I have to do is flip it on/off at the recommended time interval.

thanks for the help...

STFU you butt pirate.

I did offer three things that would help you. 1) alerting you that you have been pwnt. 2) alerting you that you may fix it by disconnecting your battery. 3) alerting that your f4gg0try is uncalled for.

gawd, you're soo seeennsitive. Perhaps you are manstrating?

see I knew there was f4gg0try involved...

when the airbags go off, components in the system are destroyed... not just the airbags. I don't remember if they are the switches or whatnot, but if you research a bit you'll find out what else you should've replaced when you had it apart.
