ITR motor on 75 shot
I got a JDM ITR motor in my integra. Just got the nitrous kit. Hows this motor respond to nitrous? I have a few options 35-55-75 shot. Im installing a window switch as well for safety and a proper tune... How long is my engine gonna last. Thats my question.
I have been running a 75 shot, [ZEX] system in my 94LS for over 5 year, mostly autocross with some drag racing, engine is still original, still runs strong, I have a few friends that also run 75 shot systems, some with no problems and others with problems, although I do believe their problems are not so much related to the nitrous oxide as they are to other issues.
The ones of use who are not having engine problems are also the ones that are **** about engine maintenance and we do not "abuse" our engines. 94

I might be wrong, but from what Ive researched about nitrous, most stock motors can handle a 50 shot with no problem, If you want to go higher than that, you should look into forged internals. last thing u want is for that new motor to go boom on you.
it is ok to shoot. but only about 50shot because u also have high compression and its bad also for ur rings if u beat the **** outta ur car soo much with that nos. soo its really up to you and how many times ur useing it. try not to use it to much in one day, will make u motor worn out and make it really hot.
personally i probably would not do more than a 55 shot just to be safe but it all depends on your tuning. if your motor is healthy right now and you slap the nitrous on and tune it correctly and don't smash the throttle going to the grocery store you'll be fine

wow. few comments belong but there is a lot of junk in here from people who i would guess have never used or understand nitrous.
the tune is the single most important thing you can do after making sure there is adequate fuel.
it's not a bad idea to upgrade your fuel pump
nitrous engines blow most commonly by too much timing and too little octane and or going lean.
a larger fuel pump and an ecu capable of running at least two maps is how i would go. you would do one all motor map and another tuned on the nitrous.
the window switch is smart, people who do the FF button are still in movie land.

Thanks a lot for the input. I went with the nitrous express kit. Im gonna have it tuned specifically for Nitrous. My buddy tuned it NA and I still made 196whp and 130wtq on a Mustang dyno. I couldn't agree more that a good tune can make or break any setup. Engine runs very strong as is.... but enough is never enough. lol

good stuff hahaha truth is tuning is needed at all times technically we should tune our cars even after just a intake but the majority of us honda tuners cant afford to get our cars tuned after each mod hahaha but once you start tinking around with FI and things of that nature tuning is a MUST
Just responding to my old thread... 75 shot ran perfect. It worked perfect like the car just had VTEC on steroids lol. Thanks everyone with the feedback.. Now I have a turbo that I am going to soon install cause there is something mentally wrong with me hahaha..

you may be right about that.. I had a wet system so everything I had worked out. My afrs were around 11.4 or so when nitrous was engaged. Optimally I would have retarded the timing a bit but with a 75 shot I did not feel it was must..
