Default nitrous motor damage!!!

i just want to see what kind of damage some of you nitrous guys have had. i know what this insides of a grenaded nitrous motor looks like but i think there may be alot of folks that are using it improperly that have no idea what could happen if its not set up/tuned right. lets see some pictures and a general description of the setup that was on it and the suspected culprit of the demise of that particular engine.

show us your handywork gents!

That's my friend's motor. It didn't let go because of too much nitrous. The Eagle stroker crank he was using broke near the flywheel side. The motor had about 2 seasons worth of racing on it, and used at the most a 125 direct port shot. At the time the motor went, he was only using a 75 shot.

You like that? I only got on it for a second, it wouldn't rev over 5000.

When I let off and threw the clutch in, the car died. Started it back up, ran like ***.

No motor damage though, just the plugs, lol.

BTW: Before anyone goes around saying that nitrous is unsafe, don't.

Nitrous is just as safe as any turbo or supercharged setup. The only problem is that since it is cheaper, more people do it and they usually do it without getting it properly tuned. This leads to a bad reputation.

OK, on with the carnage.

yea i think you need to retard your timing a couple or 10 degrees!

I had the distributor maxxed out. It still wasn't enough, obviously. It was perfect for the 50 shot, just not for the 75, lol,

Live and learn.

thats one of the points of this thread. to show those that just throw some juice on their car and call it fast, the things that can go wrong if nitrous is used improperly. good setup and proper tuning is the key just like everything else. like using some sort of timing retard device to pull your timing instead of slamming the dizz and hoping you dont melt the electrodes off all your plugs

you wouldnt call turbos unsafe if a few retarded people pushed 20psi through a stock gsr without tuning it would you?
