overheating solved?
So my car started to do the overheating thing. By that i mean the temp gauge would climb nearly to the top for 10-30 seconds then fall back down to the middle or just above. I thought the problem may have been the thermostat, so i drained the radiator replace the thermostat and filled the reserve tank to max. I filled and burped the radiator following that and let the car run for about 5-10 minutes.
Took it for a short drive (5 minutes), temp gauge has yet to move past the half way point. Later on i took the car for a 40 minute drive. The Temp was reading fine, but when i got home the hood of my car felt hot. So i took a look at the engine, there was anti freeze on the skid pad right under the batter and reservoir tank. There was also small splash bits on the hoses in the surrounding area.
I'm praying that its not a warped head, which was a common problem in the last 5 posts i just read. I wasn't quite sure what these symptoms could mean as i am not savvy with engine repair. Your help or thoughts are appreciated. If you have any question regarding specific details just ask. Thanks in advance.
