Surging idle JDM b18c-r
Well here goes, another honda idle problem. I have done everything that i can think of except replace the iacv. the engine is a JDM b18c-r. the problem started a week or two ago, my idle was steady at 1.5, throttle is LOOSE (so we can rule that out), and i havent touched the idle screw at all. after the car reached operating temperatures it surges when i come to a red light between 1 and 2000 rpms, sometimes reaching 3000. I have taken the iacv off and attempted to clean it with carb cleaner (there's still a good amount of carbon on the screen, if that matters). When i put it back on i didn't feel a noticeable difference, but perhaps the idle settled down on the start of a warm engine- at least until i start to drive the car.
So now im faced with the delema of purchasing a $200 part which may or may not fix my problem. One thing i did notice, is that after resetting the ECU (pulling ecu fuse) and i drive around for alittle bit, i do get a cel ONLY when i jump the service connector for code 14 IACV. i DO NOT get a CEL unless that connector is jumped. the only time i get a CEL (connector is NOT jumped) is when i straight up unplug the sensor. Has anyone delt with anything like this? any advice would be greatly appreciated!

No, i don't believe i am- when i open the cap i can see coolant, and i have tried purging the system of air pockets by letting it run with the cap open through 5 or 6 fan cycles.
One thing i noticed was when the cars cold, theres absolutely no coolant in my radiator hoses to the best of my knowledge...idk if there is supposed to be or not, and when the car warms up to operating temp, i can see the fluid running through the hole of the cap when i give it some gas, but there still isnt a whole hell of alot of coolant in that top rad hose when i squeeze it.
