cold motor without holding the TB open, possible. get the car warm and hold the TB open. i would not be surprised to see you jump 60psi

also could be your gauge

also remember to pull ecu fuse from under the hood, and all the spark plugs so your not fighting compression while trying to test compression. my gsr has a jdm b18c in it, last time i checked i got 250,240,240,250

well the reason it is advised to pull the fuse is so that fuel is not being introduced into the cylinders.

hope your car starts after that. if you don't unplug the distributor it can easily fry the coil. ive done it, so have many others. a compression test with the distributor firing is often a car that won't start

If your car has loss of power & or smokes or uses oil than you are prob due for some rings I did my JDM GSR with new rings & comp rebuild dry on cold engine pulled plugs out & fuel fuse maybe disconnected dizzy cant remember ranged 190-210-220-230 this was with leaky valve guides going to re-check once I get head back from machine shop, you want to be above 170 at a min

impossible to tell if it's rings or valves leaking. you should do another compression test when warm with the TB open and with a newer gauge. if you still have low numbers and are burning a lot of oil it's time to replace the rings, get a valve job, spec the guides and replace the seals at a bare minimum.

My 98 gsr have 120 all across. But my still pull hard tbh... is fast at high end I race some gsr they lost by a car even tho there car is build 220 psi compression. But my smoke at high end . I did ask some people they say the same thing 120 is not so bad . It be hard to start ur car that's it
