Default clicking noise, not from axles

i got a d16z6 and I got a weird clicking sound coming from my engine bay, can't pin point it, I didn't hear it from the head. Only occurs doing start up and when I'm not pressing the clutch, so transmission problem?

If the noise goes away when pressing down the clutch pedal, then you may have a bad mainshaft/input shaft bearing.

Also check for a loose or cracked exhaust heat shield.

It wouldn't be a throw out bearing?

Hi guys, i also have a problem with a low-pitch noise sound coming coming from the engine....just below the injectors. i'm not sure what it is but the sound has been there ever since i bought the car, but it's getting worst now. it only happens when i take off from rest and then goes away when i drive....could this be a problem with the gear box mounting? the sound is probably stimulated by some mechanical vibration, something that's loose somewhere...i need to try and pin point the problem...can anyone assist? it's a honda ballade 160i 97...

Are you sure it's not the injectors clicking that you're hearing?
