does anyone know if i could convert my slighty moded D15b2 to Vtec
i just thro a rod in my stock d15b2 and manged to find a new block pretty cheap so i was going to just rebuild it but then i ended up boring it .020 over and i now have new pistons and rods the motor is balanced and blueprinted but i want more i want a vtec lol but i didnt know it i could just put the vtec head on my motor or not being .020 over or not i know i would have to change the harness and some other little things but does anyone know if i had to do anymore to the head and i guess my biggest question is what would be the best head for me to run i have heard the z head was better the the y but i just want one that will work so please help me out
i know that but i just didnt know if anyone had a preferance to with one i should run and i know the heads are for a 92 and up but my motor is a 89 and i didnt know what else it would take to run it.
try looking into the FAQ's forum. I always do research on everything so I dont run into probs like this.
try this link, it might help, might not.

both the z6 and y8 head would work fine. on there respective blocks the power output is very similar so you can't go wrong with either one.
