Default vtec-e harness question/sensor question

i jsut got me a vtec-e engine. and i need the engine harness. i know a EX would do.

but there is a sensor that is at the top left of the engine. by the vtec solenoid. does that only come on the vx harness? what is that sensor. will i be ok if i just use a ex harness and not plug in that sensor, or will i have to hard wire it?

just wondering basically if i need the vx harness or not. i also havwe the ECU.

Yep, its for the EGR, theres also a box mounted to the firewall on VXs that you will need.

Yes.

If you're in California you will need to have the EGR functioning to pass emissions.

That wiring comes from the cabin harness. VX harnesses are altogether weird. I actually have a cabin harness (headlight plugs were cut off, previous owner hard wired HIDs) and a pretty thrashed VX engine harness (bunch of connectors are cut, most of it I can fix, I pulled the vtec wiring from it to turn a DX harness into an EX/Si harness) if you have any intrest i'd sell both quite cheaply, PM me if you're interested.

Car will probably run ok, but you'll never pass california emissions without it.
