Default oil pan gasket

Can you use a oil pan gasket from a eg on a ek? the gaskets for the eg look like a better gasket. Thank you for your input.

can you be more specific about which engine? Eg and EK covers about half a dozen different engines. i'd assume some may be interchangeable

This is not completely true. The oil pan gasket for the D16Y7 is very different than the gasket for the D16Y8.

Really... did not know that. I thought all the d series oil pans were interchangable, therefore forcing the gaskets to be very similar... does that mean the y7 and y8 oil pans or not interchangable as well?

Even though the two pans require different gaskets, the pans are interchangeable between Y7 and Y8/Y5 blocks.

Does using the Y8 offer some statistical gain in anything? Because I have a Y8 mini me and I'm pretty sure a Y7 oil pan. I just say this because usually, anything Y8 trumps anything Y7
