As the title states.....

 

You have to adjust the BOV to work properly with the engine vacuum. If you have it set tot tight it wil cause compressor surge which can damage the compressor wheel of the turbo. set to loose and the bov will open when boosting and you wil leak boost. hope that helps

 

How will I know if either one or the other situation is happening?

 

Would you care to explain to me how you plan to adjust this HKS SSQ BOV? To my knowledge, there is no way to adjust it. Thats the whole point of the design.

 

the old models had the adjustment screw on the back. I remember reading a statement hks released years ago about how they regret putting the screw on there, they are set from the factory and they had lots of people trying to adjust them and screwing it up. This is the reason they removed it on the new models

 

Honestly, I went to the garage last night..went all the way loose then tightened 2 full turns..no difference in sound or boost performance as per my datalogs.
