timing question

Default timing question

well i'm going to change my head on my 91 stock civic and i was wondering if the timing would be off or anything or the timing would be good

As long as u line up the timing gears correctly it should be fine but i would still check it to make sure before driving it

Timing belt has to be removed(at least from the head) to get head off.
Sounds like a good time to change the belt and might as well do the water pump while you are at it.

Timing belt will have to be removed....you will go ahead and replace it if you are smart. Find TDC and line all timing marks back up and re-install timing belt. You will then have to re-set your timing VIA a timing light. You have to let the car get up to operating temp and unplug the service port before you can set the timing.
