Default Thinking of tuning a ls... input needed

so im probably trading my built boosted b16 for a stock ls. It has boltons and the head, throttle body, and IM are ported. It has a stock ecu now and i was interested in probably getting a tune to see if i can pull some more power out of it...

Is it worth the cash?

also has walbro fuel pump, 370 cc injectors, and oversized b16 pistons

running on a basemap currently...not doing a vtec head anytime soon so save you breath

if you can get it tuned cheaply then it can't hurt. otherwise i probably wouldn't bother unless you were running bigger cams.

It will be worth every penny, even with stock everything. Im sure they could squeeze a nice 10-15hp out of it. Plus you have larger pistons and upgraded injectors, that definitely calls for a tune.

DO IT! and post results. I always wanted to get my stock Y8 tuned back when I had I/H/E.

my boy has a gti vr6 with cams and hes been talking smack about it.... hope to spank him at the track after the tune...

im gonna try and throw it on the dyno before tune and again afterwards to see the difference between the basemap power versus the tune.

i have gsr cams... will they fit in a non vtec head? ive never driven a honda without vtec before but having some toque will be nice

no sorry vtec cams don't work in non-vtec cylinder heads.

because you have larger injectors then yes you absolutely need a tune simply because it will run rich as crap otherwise. considering the other mods i would expect to see a decent gain anyway. i retract my previous statement above lol.
