HELP WITH CIVIC Air conditioning!
97 civic dx coupe
i have already done:
new drier(s/p?)
new expansion valve
wrapped my ac lines
slim line 12" fan
so i have a boosted y7 and i have everything installed to put a/c back in my car. I have the right amount of freon and the new parts as listed above. The a/c kinda blows cool but not cold the lowest it has gotten is probably 85-90 degrees. My high side line is REALLY hot and my low side line is kinda room temp. Could my compressor, condenser, or evaporator core be my issue of not being cold enough? My evap core does let water off after the a/c is on but the air isnt cold. HELP!! PLEASE!
CLIFF NOTES!
every time i hit the a/c button the compressor turns on like its suppose to and stays on cause it never gets cool enough inside to turn it off.
a put the vacuum on it for about 15 mins and let it set at about 29-30lbs of vacuum for 10-15 mins then added freon....
there are no leaks, let it set in 29 lbs of vacuum for like 15-20 mins and it didnt drop a bit.
yea my low side is like at 35-40 and my high side is like at 250-300[/QUOTE]
i bypassed the water valve so that is not an issue either....

250-300 PSI on the high side is too high, sounds like an airflow issue or an over charge.
What is the refrigerant charge?
How much A/C oil did you put in and what kind?
Try this, using a garden hose, run water over the condenser, [A/C on max and recirc on] what is the head pressure, [high side pressure] and vent temp. 94

the refrigerant charge? sorry not sure on all the technical terms
my buddy actually put the oil in after we let it set in vacuum for 15-20 mins. Not sure what kind it was but i will ask him.
i am going to go get the guages and run some water over the condenser and see what happens, thanks for your help!

apparently my slim fan is not doing the job......i used a garden hose and sprayed some water over the condenser and had the air on full blast and recirculate and the air got ice cold after about 2 mins.....
also the high side dropped down to about 200-250

yea it is...there was actually a lack of freon in the system, now when im driving down the road the air is coming out at 45 degrees.
haha yea i actually had to switch it up when i first put the fan in
my fan wasn't pulling enough air throughout the whole condenser so i wasn't getting the right readings. So what i did was spray water on the condenser and put in some more freon at the same time lol and now it works like a charm when i am going down the road! Now to make a fan shroud that will work with my setup......
