Default B series block fittings for catch can... where they go?

i want to run a catch can on my b16.. its my dd so i cant send the valve cover away to get bungs welded.. They sell a block fitting kit on go autoworks for the b series... its 2 -10 an adapter fittings and one plug that go into the block... where do there go on the block? are these a suitable substitute for venting the valve cover?

c'mon bro there are like 1248762785619 threads on catch cans. the block fittings go on the rear of the block on either side of the oil filter. you remove to plugs (14mm allen head) and install the fittings. then attach -10 AN lines. this will work fine for crank ventilation but you may have problems with the can filling/overflowing unless you use a drain back

Hey, you see your male oil filter holder fitting? My b16 block looks just like this, and I cannot figure out how to install the stock oil cooler over this. The fitting for the oil cooler is already a male end, which is supposed to thread INTO the block, sandwiching the oil cooler to the block. Then the oil filter threads onto THAT. But this male "oil holder" as honda calls it - wont allow installation of the oil cooler. Does this existing fitting thread out of the block? I dont want to screw the threads using vise-grips only to find that this thing wont come out!

where do you drain back to? having that overfillin problem

where do you drain back to? having that overfillin problem

you have it drain back into the oil pan. if you have a moroso oil pan you can use the plug in the back of the block.

i do have moroso. but the olug in the pan sits kinda low so i dont think itd drain efficiently

it will still drain you should see how low VW return lines go into the pan

You dont need to have have it go into the oil pan... If youre catch can is equipped with a drain valve on bottom of catch can you can just tee into one of the lines from the back of block to catch can. You just have to make sure the catch can is mounted as high up as possible in the bay.

I use the B&R fitting. It replaces the solid plug and gives you an option for a drain back setup.

So wish i would have done this when I had the motor out... what a pain in the **** to get to... I got a b16b in an ej1 and I'm trying to put the go auto works block vent kit in but it looks like I have to take off the intake manifold to get access... Any other ideas?

Intake manifold isn't hard to take off at all.

If its your first time take lots of pics before anything.

Keep all the bolts in zip locks

put the car on jackstands and do it from under the car?

I suggest you read the catchcan thread and not bump a 4 year old thread, as more than likely no one will give a useful reply
