ipt,level10,
what size turbo, had my eg on 7psi making 151wkw,
what you will need....
1.motivation
2.back up plan for when ul eventually either change to manual or buildthe **** out of the box
3.cash
4.cash(lots of things can be done to an auto box to make it reliable)
5.external oil cooler<-----this is a must
tranny will be fine if its a smallish turbo,no stupid launches ie neutral to first,or brake boosting unless the torque converter is built for it
thats all i can think of now,my bitch is the ls turbo thread

It will hold but how long is the question. If you have to replace your tranny, you might as well go to manual. If you dont mind my asking, why not make the swap to manual?

Honda automatics are known to not tollerate much beyond stock hp levels. Look at all the problems the earlier V6 autos had. I would NOT be modifying an auto.

build around the fact that its an auto and you will be fine, and just prepare to invest money in getting the trans upgraded by a legit shop like IPT or level10, i love shitting all over manual cars with the auto

nobody gives the auto its just due because its weak from the factory, they only consider an automatic worthwhile when its able to handle 500 ft lbs from the factory, when in fact you can make any honda automatic into a beastly machine with the right investment and modification. I prefer it for a fast daily driven city car, imo. Now if i had a brand new 2010 camaro ss i was gona drive around on the weekends and wax and wash every weekend, it would be a 6 speed, no questions asked.

god dam haters, haha, and thers a few guys on h-t running strong autos,i know 2 tha are pushing close to and jus over 600whp,build it right and it will be awsome, unless u gna be doin track(the one with corners) racing constantly then thers really no need for it to be a manual driven beast,i do more traffic driving than driving, and track days are way to overpriced this side,

Send me a link to someone with a HONDA automatic transmission that is holding 600whp.

What it comes down to is what YOU wanna do. Its YOUR car so build it how you want. All I am doing is offering my opinion on what I have seen in my many years in the honda scene. Fact is, if you wanna have a high hp auto, its gonna take much more money than a high hp manual. For the op, boost it on 5 psi and buy a backup. The good thing about auto trannys for hondas is that they can be had for next to nothing, most of the time free from the right person. This debate can go on forever but facts are facts. If you wanna prove that an auto is awesome for boost, make a thread with dynos, pictures, track times, and multiple automatic setups making killer horsepower. That is the only way you are gonna get respect. Just saying this and that is not gonna prove your point. BTW, I am far from a hater. My car makes great power and no auto honda will be pulling on me anytime soon but who really cares??

i have never heard of a automatic honda tranny holding much power. The big thing is they make everything lighter duty to fit in a small space. because there is more than just gears and syncros in an auto. They have all the hydrolic stuff to shift the gears for you. But on the other hand i have seen a stall converter for them a long while back. The stall would help a little getting into boost before lock up though. In my opinion its a crap shoot if it will work. I have had people on here tell me you cant over 500whp on a stock block b series also and there are a few running around that i know of here in the Colorado Springs area. You can probably find a stock d series tranny cheap if you break it then go back to stock and let us know how it works out for you
